Application clicks for most people on the second or third try, so give yourself a little time and follow these steps. There are videos for every stage on our how-to page.
1. Prep is everything. Your natural lashes and the skin around them need to be completely clean, dry and free from oil, mascara, eye cream, SPF and skincare. Prepping the skin properly makes the biggest single difference to how long the lashes last.
2. Set yourself up. Lay a flat mirror on a table and look down into it. This lifts your lid naturally and exposes the base of your lashes.
3. Lift a cluster from the tray. Slide your applicator between the pre-glued strip and the tape holding the cluster, then grip halfway up the lash hairs, never at the glue end.
4. Place it underneath. Tuck the cluster underneath your natural lashes so it bonds at the base of your natural lashes along the lash line, about 2mm from the waterline. Work from the outer corner inwards, using longer lengths on the outer half and shorter towards the inner corner.
5. Clamp. This is the step that locks the bond. Give each cluster several light, quick presses with the clamp end of the applicator, gripping halfway up the lash rather than on the adhesive.
6. Reposition if needed. You have 1 to 2 minutes while the adhesive is tacky to nudge a cluster into place.
7. Let it cure. Keep the lashes dry for the first 24 to 48 hours while the bond sets. After that, normal life resumes.
If a cluster sticks to the clamp, you are gripping too close to the adhesive; move halfway up the lash hairs. Clean fingertips work perfectly well as an alternative to the clamp.
